The National Maritime College in Ringaskiddy, County Cork is a national and international centre of excellence for the education and training of merchant marine students seeking careers in commercial shipping, as well as members of the Irish Naval Service in training, for 750 Irish and overseas students.
The three-storey college buildings also provide lecture theatre halls, classrooms, technical laboratories, engineering and marine workshops, sea survival training facilities (such as an indoor survival training pool and helicopter, underwater egress trainers), sports and recreation amenities and a slipway and jetty fully fitted with lifeboats and associated launching equipment.
