The student accommodation at the University of Sheffield was built to provide improved facilities to strengthen the University’s international status. This was achieved by creating an environment with a sense of community and a design that sympathetically combines the new build with the surrounding residential and conservation area.
The build involved the construction of 3,529 new ensuite rooms offering a choice of accommodation to suit budgets and circumstances, refurbishment of 405 existing rooms, transfer of 257 rooms from the existing estate, 2 social hubs offering welfare and social facilities and related infrastructure.
